According to the ICAO TI and IATA DGR, appropriate training has to be given to various personnel involved in the transportation of Dangerous goods depending on the nature of their work. Indian regulation stipulates minimum hours/days of training for each category of personnel.

Accordingly DGM Institute of Training conducts six days Basic Course and three days course in Transport of Dangerous goods by Air to meet the requirement of ICAO TI, IATA DGR (Table1.5A) and DGCA India’s for following categories of personnel
  1. Shippers and persons undertaking the responsibilities of shippers; including operator’s staff acting as shipper, operator’s staff preparing dangerous goods as company material.
  2. Staff of freight forwarders involved in processing dangerous goods.
  3. Operator’s and ground handling agent’s staff accepting dangerous goods.

While it is not yet mandatory for off shore personnel involved in transport of dangerous goods by sea, to be trained, IMO has mandated training for all offshore personnel involved in such transport to be appropriately trained effective 1st January 2010.

DGM Institute of training also offers 3 days in-house programmes on Transport of Dangerous goods by Sea for :-

  1. Shippers and persons undertaking the responsibilities of shippers
  2. Staff of freight forwarders/logistics companies involved in processing dangerous goods by sea

All programmes are conducted by certified and experienced trainers and instructors

Chief Instructor:
Radharamanan Panicker, MBA, BSc (Physics), Diploma in Air Cargo(IATA), Diploma in Ground handling (IATA), Diploma in Finance (ICFAI).

Panicker is a IATA Certified Instructor and also has been certified under the stringent testing standard of DGM Worldwide programme of certified instructor. He has 22 years of Experience in cargo inspection, express cargo and cargo handling. He is an Expert in handling of Dangerous goods and Perishable Cargo and has worked with airline industry for more than 14 years.

Associate Instructor:
Daniel Rufus is a IATA Certified Instructor. Has worked more than 15 years in the airline industry with experience in cargo inspection, airline cargo sales and service and Dangerous Goods handling. He is an expert in Dangerous goods handling
