DGM’s Scope of Services:
As per the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s technical instructions for safe transport of dangerous goods by air, IATA’s DGR section 1.5.1 and Government of India’s The Aircraft (Carriage of Dangerous Goods) Rules, 2003 Section12 as well as the International Maritime Organization’s IMDG code Part 1 Volume 1, shippers, their agents and packers involved in transport of dangerous goods by sea have to be mandatorily trained.
However, many times it is not possible for shippers and organizations to keep track of such training requirements as they are more focused on their core manufacturing, marketing and related activities. It is here that the expertise of DGM comes into play.
However the regulations allow shippers to delegate their responsibility to third party agents, provided such agents are thoroughly trained to fulfill the shipper’s responsibility. Processing, packing and handling of dangerous goods shipment for transport by air or sea requires trained professional who understands the requirement of the various regulations- IMDG Code for Sea and IATA DGR/ICAO for air shipments and relevant safety consideration.
DGM is a recognised & accreted IATA Training centre for conducting IATA DGR Training Programmes for Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
DGM School has also been approved by DGCA, Govt. of India. DGM also conducts basic course on transport of dangerous goods by sea as per IMDG Code. Please contact DGM office for further details.
